Do you prefer the evil Sunset or the good Sunset?

I thought evil Sunset seemed kind of one dimensional. I like her much better now that she is reformed.

    Season 7 Filter

Is the season 7 filter not working for anyone else recently? It is no longer hiding new episode related posts and all these Canadian and Australian spoilers are impossible to avoid now without it. I've double checked my settings and it is set to hide season 7 posts, but lately they are still showing up.

    S6 - Episode 17 - Discussion

It was an ok episode but not as good as I was expecting. It just seemed like not much happened. I wish they had spent more time in Discord's game world instead of sitting around the table talking. I also thought Spike calling Discord a weirdo was kind of harsh, even if he did deserve it. Mostly I think I just missed the main characters. As side characters (as Discord called them) Spike and Big Mac are great but having them carry an entire episode on their own is a bit much.

    Did G2 even exist?

G2 was a toy line only, there was no cartoon associated with it. The original cartoon was based on the G1 toys, then the G2 toys came out but no new cartoon, then the G3 toys and a new My Little Pony series based on them. The final toy line before G4 is usually called G3.5, not sure why other than the style didn't change all that much and My Little Pony Tales were based on these.

    Do you like Sunset Shimmer?

Not in the very first movie much, not because she was a villain but she just seemed really one dimensional and kind of boring in that. I absolutely adored her in Rainbow Rocks though and she's now my favorite human character.

    Star Wars or Star Trek?

I grew up watching the original Star Trek. I would be outside playing and hear the theme on the TV and go running inside to watch. I loved the movies, TNG, DS9, even Voyager. So out of the two I'd have to say I like Star Trek more, but not the new Abrams Trek movies. I really didn't like those at all. I liked the original Star Wars trilogy as a kid too and I still have a lot of nostalgia for those, but I have never watched the prequels to this day.
  7. Thanks for the tip, sounds great. I've actually never been on an RP server but I'll certainly check it out.

    Retro games

I love classic gaming. My first console was a Colecovision; I have so many fond memories of playing it with my family. A few years later we got an NES and it was awesome. Going from Atari to Super Mario Bros. was just mind blowing at the time. Then I got Zelda...that was an amazing experience. Right now I have a few old consoles. An Atari 2600 six switch with around 130 games, my old NES, a Super Famicom and a Sega Genesis. I would love to have another Colecovision someday but finding a working one in good condition is getting more difficult. I'm also crazy about old computers too and bought a TI-99/4A new in the box on ebay a few years ago. I've been slowly building up a small collection of games for it. It has what I think is the very best home port of Q*Bert, and Parsec is really fun, especially with the voice modulator. Really love that old computer voice sound.
  9. Sounds interesting. I actually started a Cutie Mark Crusaders guild a few years ago, mostly just for me and some friends. I found the WoW community to be rather hostile towards any mention of the show however, at least back then. Of course the wow community is rather hostile towards everything I suppose. I don't have any characters on Wyrmrest but I might start one there while the easy invasion leveling is around.

What do you do to calm down?

Listening to music, hiking in the woods on a nice cool day, or curling up with a book or a classic movie or TV show.

    *Insert Pony Musician Here*

I like StrachAttack, General Mumble and Sim Gretina just off the top of my head. There are so many great artists though. The Cider Party channel on Youtube always has a really nice selection.

    Thoughts on Spike.

When I very first started watching back in season 1 I wasn't very fond of him at first. I considered him the Scrappy Doo of the series and thought he was kind of annoying, but over time I've warmed up to him and I generally like him now (except when they really dumb him down in certain episodes). His character has of course improved a great deal over the years also.

WoW Legion - What will you play?

I'm still not sure since I haven't tried all the redesigned classes yet. I've been playing a priest and a hunter for years; never cared much for melee but I've been having a lot of fun with my outlaw rogue. I'm thinking it might be my new main spec, though I'll certainly be sticking with my priest as well. As for hunters, good grief what have they done? Survival was my spec for years but now it's this weird melee class that I just haven't gotten a handle on or enjoyed at all, and BM is a complete mess now. I've been playing MM now and it's sort of ok, but not really. I don't know, in any case I really don't like the hunter changes at all. I may just end up retiring him.

    World of Warcraft

I've been playing since 2005, though I often take long breaks from it. I wasn't a big fan of Warlords of Draenor but so far Legion looks like it is going to be really fun, at least I hope so. I've spent the last week leveling an army of alts with the invasions, as if I didn't have enough level 100s already. They were fun but I have to say I'm really starting to get a bit burned out on them. I'm glad the expansion is launching in a few days.

Why did you join the fandom?

I'm not sure if it was late 2010 or early 2011 that I started seeing all the Pony screenshots and memes showing up in forum threads, but I know I immediately loved the art style. I didn't realize at first what it was all about though and when I started hearing about all these fans of the show I have to admit I thought it was all some kind of strange joke that I wasn't getting. I finally decided to check it out for myself though so I downloaded an episode and sat down to watch it, not really expecting to be able to sit through the entire thing. I just wanted to know why everyone was talking about it so much. I still remember cringing at the theme song (which has since grown on me) and wondering what in the world I was doing watching this. My younger cousin used to love watching the G3 show and I was expecting it to be more of that "girly fru-fru stuff" as Spike might have called it. Much to my surprise, it wasn't bad at all. It probably helped that I still enjoy watching cartoons, I just wasn't expecting to ever be watching MLP. The first episode I watched was The Ticket Master and I ended up watching another episode right after it. Before long I was hooked, the show was really great. I've been watching ever since. As for the fandom, I believe the first thing I discovered were PMVs, parody series and other fan videos on Youtube while searching for more episodes. Those in turn introduced me to new music (I had always wondered what dubstep was), and then I found all of the wonderful artwork, stories, and just an amazing community. I used to be a bit embarrassed and afraid to tell anyone for fear of being ridiculed but I got past that over time and now most of my friends and family know I'm a fan of the show (though some of them still think it is weird).
