  1. I think I've fallen in love with the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Randomizer, namely v8. Turns out in Custom Difficulty you can simply edit out (or for some reason if you wanted to increase the occurrences of [as so long as the total item pool equals 147, or 170 if you have maps and compasses removed as well]) the existence of items in the randomizer pool before generating seeds, so now I can purge the shields forever. SHIELDLESS LINK RULES!!

Yeah, you can bonk jump to get to that door in Ganon's Tower.

Nah. It's just as fun without glitches simply for the randomization aspect, although I've learned how to do Hammer Dashing, Magic Mirror Block Teleportation, and Spin Speed to help speed things up (Spin Speed is SO useful on Death Mountain). I still kinda want to learn how to do a proper Bomb Jump, and I know how the Exploration Glitch works (though it being a glitch that lets you win the game in under 4 minutes makes it feels cheap), but Hovering, Super Bunny, Wrong Warping, Overworld Fake Flute, and YBA are still leagues above my skill, and I'm not sure if I would want to learn them.

Got the flippers in a cave between the dam and Lake Hylia you have to bomb open. It has four chests and an NPC that'll give you a fifth item/heart container/heart piece/consumable/money (depending on the seed). I believe that was the same place I got the Red Mail and Lantern on the seed I'm playing now.

Like I sad before, if you set the logic for the seed generation to Glitchless, the flippers will always be somewhere you can get to without swimming, as will the boots be somewhere you won't need one of the gloves, Armos Knights won't be holding the Bow, Mothula and Trinexx won't have the Fire Rod, the only place in the Dark World the Moon Pearl or Mirror can ever be is on the right side of the Pyramid, etc. You might have to look a bit sometimes (I'm still looking for the Cane of Somaria, for instance), but every item that is required to beat the game will always be somewhere that won't softlock the game.

Also, you always hope Swamp Palace, Ice Palace, and/or Turtle Rock are pendant dungeons, especially the blue and red pendants (sometimes the green pendant is needed if Sahrasrula has an item you need, but usually if a dungeon ends up being a pendant there's a good chance you can simply ignore it [unless in the rare case something happens like in one round of the current Randomizer tournament where Tower of Hera was a red pendant dungeon and Moldorm had the flippers]).

Keep it at most PG/PG-13 and pretty much you're good... Obviously this means as long as you stay away from things like nudity, "naughty/explicit" things, upskirting, and guro/disembowelment, you shouldn't really have a problem.

Last night I was playing on a pretty awesome seed where in the very first chest I got the flute and Zelda had the Blue Mail with her in her cell, then I got Red Mail shortly after. Had to beat Aghanim to get access to the Titan's Mitt, but on the plus side I already had the Golden Master Sword when I fought him. Can't remember if I got the bow or the Master Sword from King Zora though... :ponder:

It DOES use the Japanese 1.0 ROM, yes, but in most recent versions, i.e. v7 and v8, most of the text has been purged (Randomizer completely bypasses all story-based text and cutscenes like the opening telepathic message from, your uncle in the tunnel, Zelda, the maidens talking to you when you find their crystal, the dialogue from the bottle vendor/sick kid/bridge hobo, etc.), although there is some added English dialogue now they added in v8, such as the boss Blind in Thieves' Town cracks a random corny joke when you expose her to light before beginning the fight, there's a random quip from your uncle when the game first starts in your house that actually has a 5% chance of telling you where the Pegasus Boots are, the Master Sword pedestal can be read with the Book to find out what item is in the pedestal, and Ganon will taunt you when his second phase begins revealing where the Silver Arrows are. Also, the menus are in English now.

So no, you don't need to be able to read Japanese to play Randomizer. The main reason they chose to use the Japanese ROM anyways was that when you do have text appear, it displays MUCH faster than the English version, plus it has some useful glitches and bugs that you can use (but if set the seed's logic to Glitchless you won't have to know to find everything) like the Fake Flippers, Hammer Dashing, Spin Speed, and (if you're really pro) Hovering.

  9. Good night everypony.

  10. I had a really weird dream last night. I dreamt that the forums had eventually became a cesspit of debauchery and it was rather disheartening.

If anyone sees a member named "Danger Guy" show up, you tell me. Call it early premonition.

Note to self - Hold off on making that "Danger Guy" account...... He knows. :ajlie:

  13. Ever wondered how does a movie projectionist set up a computerized projector for movies?

    Z41yuN4.jpg

the Transitions are just pure black image, no sounds or anything, this is where we made the computer automatically apply settings like volume, lightning, screen, etc. Then comes up the trailers that always plays before the show starts along with some sponsored ads. Then more black screen transitions so the machine can change its settings to fit with the movie that is about to play. in this case Attraction. And after that, the movie plays.

  14. I won't reply the forum games until other forums games are replied.
