  1. So yeah, I'm just curious about this classic question. Or maybe I just wanna check who wins between Unicorns and Pegasus (and see how low can Earth ponies fall xD). Personally I would be a pegasus. Unicorns standard magic doesn't really persuade me (to be a strong magic user you must have a cutie mark about magic, so...), while on the other hand, the ability to fly is like a dream to me. I wanna feel the wind in my hai-err, I mean, mane, the adrenaline of flying at top speed and be able to watch the sunset while resting on a cloud :'o
  2. Hey hey hey! Its-a-me! With another "Share your experiences/personal thoughts" post! Recently a friend asked me about what makes MLP so great, and almost instantly told me to give him a link to an episode to watch. This leaded to me asking myself "Should I send him the link to the first episode, or should I make him watch some random episode first?". "But are you out of your mind, Jederick? Sending him a random episode link? Thats crazy talk!". Well, the thing is: I didn't start watching the show with "Friendship is Magic part 1 and 2", and I've read lots of people in the same situation. The first episodes I watched were "A Canterlot Wedding - part 1 and 2" with my younger sister (It was kinda like a challenge, to be honest), without knowing any of the Mane Six names except from Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. We didn't understand what the Elements of Harmony were, nor who Princess Celestia was, but we had such a good time! The plot, the writing, the animations. There were even masive fights! And ponies KISSING! It was so crazy, hilarious and awesome! I watched Friendship is Magic pt 1 & 2 a couple of days later, but honestly? Season's two finale is...special. I don't know, but it was a different point in the show, and I'm glad that's what introduced me to the show. Watching ponies kick Changelings butts was waaay more interesting and fascinating than watching Pinkie Pie laugh at trees or Fluttershy calming a giant beast. It made me care more and to want to know more about the show. So that was my experience. What was yours? What's the first episode you ever watched? Would you change it? Or are you happy with how the events took place?
  3. Got to admit, I was really scared when I heard the news of AJ parents. I'm glad its a flashback episode, otherwise it would be the biggest "Fuck you!" to a fandom ever...of all time. I personally don't care about RD parents. I believe we have way too much family episodes and, considering how the fans seems to love meeting new family members, they seem more like easy fanservice catch rather than actual episodes. I really don't know how the Mane cast will interact with RD parents, but I would rather have a Rainbow-Scootaloo centered episode instead of that. Haven't seen a good episode of this two since Brotherhooves Social...and they were secondary characters there!
  4. I don't have anything against Glim Glam...but I'm kinda scared? Idk, but ever since she appeared in the series I thought it was gonna be something like "Starlight in the series, Sunset in the movies". I like the group that was formed in the movies and I kinda don't like the possible idea of Starlight appearing there, too. Maybe she will just appear for one episode and then dissappear, more like a guest appearence, but if she appears and joins the group, I think that 8 characters would be way too much :/ And then we have the thing that Sci-Twi still hasn't found her place in the yeah, I don't think the EG group is ready to add yet another character. Hoping Starlight is a one-time appearence. And is it just me or she looks young? Idk, Sunset looked badass in her leather jacket but here Starlight just seems like a young kid trying to look cool. I don't know if its the hat or maybe her eyes.

    Fandom's classics

I'm one of those guys who 'discovered' the magic of the show waaay after the first episode aired (at the beginning of 2014, during Season Four). The 'bronies' were an already stablished fandom by then, and liking ponies wasn't as rare and as 'new' as in 2010. Of course, because of that, I missed the so called "golden days" of 2010/2011/2012, back when pony things were something new and the fandom was starting to craft some of their greatest gems. Even today, almost three years after becoming a fan, there are still a number of things that I'm missing about the fandom. Okay, so, keeping that totally unnecessary personal story aside, the thing is: I kinda want to learn more about the old days of the fandom. More specifically, all the "classics" from this fandom. For example, fanfics such as Past Sins, Fallout: Equestria and My Little Dashie are not only considered classics, but also some of the best fanfics (personal opinions aside) this fandom has to offer. Other example could be the kinda-abridged series "Friendship is Witchcraft". To a more "meme" extreme, the idea of the Solar Empire vs the Lunar Republic could count, too. I've been a fan for almost three years and I simply keep finding more "classic" fanworks that I never heared about. I've tried searching for lists or posts in ED but I simply couldn't find any interesting source or list. So, why not asking to the fandom directly? Here's the thing: If you are an old school brony, what are the 'classics' that you can remember? If you are a new brony or a somewhere-in-between fan (like me), which fanworks from before you became a brony have gotten your attention? I'm particulary curious about things prior to the second half of 2013 (That is, prior to S4 and the first EG movies) but maybe new fans are interested in things that happened during the latest years, too. I already gave a few names such as Fallout: Equestria and My Little Dashie. Hope to learn about new (old) things from this our fandom!

Welcome, welcome! There's no need to be shy here, we all love MLP and I really haven't seen anyone being mean to another, so don't worry about that! Enjoy your stay!

    Silly Forum Game: Avatars

I think Twilight's gravitational spell has some problems. Poor Spike, being her test subject. It's a cutscene from the DLC case of Dual Destinies

Which type of pony would you be?

I beg your pardon, but last time I checked, Changelings were a completely different race. But now seriously, I left other races out because I mainly wanted to see the competition between the three pony tribes. We could make a new topic with other races like changelings or bat ponies included, I guess.

    Nuke's FIM Episode review thread

Thi episode was on tv just a few hours ago here in Argentina xD Oh, Lesson Zero. On of the first episodes I ever saw, and one of the reasons why I truly became addicted with MLP. The Y rating really made wonders for the show: The gags, the scripts, the toon-violence. S2 grabbed the best of S1 and took it to the next level. And honestly, even though I always loved this episode, I never realized how important it was for the show until I read this (I didn't even know about the Y thing). Really, except for Rarity being WAY overdramatic, everything here is perfect (and even the couch gag was funny enough). There are so many characters that were so well written: Celestia acts like a good mentor yet at the same time retains a certain level of badassness and respect that never again was shown in the following seasons, Spike's characterization is the best you will get (and this episode is the reason why I like Spike so much, I'm glad I saw this before other episodes like Spike at your service) and even Twilight's characterization is one of the best, if not THE best, you will get in the whole show. And its funny because she is the 'antagonist' of the whole episode; we spend 22 minutes watching the worst of the worst of her, and that makes her so real! I really miss this kind of episodes. Along with 'It's about time' we see the dark side of Twilight without making her an annoyance like in Feeling Pinkie Keen. This...this is just so good! I always felt that if you want to make a friend start watching the show, Lesson Zero is one of the best ways to do it. PS: The part with Smarty Pants and the Crusaders is pure gold.

    Sci-Twi, I never needed you.

I only like her design in Friendship Games and the possibility it opened for me to ship Sunset with her while shipping Pony Twilight with Trixie and stuff 8D Honestly, everything has already been highlighted. Though I have to admit, I was hyped when I saw that ending scene in RR, Hasbro ultimately gave us Fluttershy with Twi's skin. I thought she was gonna be more like Pony Twilight in the first episode; not shy, but rather uninterested in friendship and more interested in science n stuff. Buuuut we got the "Uh...ehhhh...I...I wanna be alone because everyones an a-hole in this school...please don't be mad". Geez girl, grow a spine. I dislike her design in Legend of Everfree because its Twi with glasses. I mean, at least her school uniform and tied hair gave her a unique look (and her science coat!). And her story was so similar to Sunset that you don't get any interest in her. What's worse, even though Sunset is still the "leader" in LoE, Twilight kinda ended up being the OP character (and lets face it, Sunset's power sucks). So yeah...she wasn't needed, but for the same reason Sunset will never appear in the show, PonyTwi couldn't keep popping up in the EG movies so they created an expy without much personality. We all know that Sunset IS and WILL always be the "Twilight" of the human world.

    Dreams You've Had About It

Well...sorry I revive this, but I found it odd that just today I dreamed about the ponies xD Something about Nightmare Night and all the Mane Six and CMC being tired of celebrating it except for Rainbow, and then she had a discussion with Applejack involving Rainbow's habit of waking up at 12:00 PM.

    Sunset Shimmer Fan Club

Yay! Tocino is best pony AND human! I really don't know if this breaks any rules, but if you are a Sunset Shimmer fan, you REALLY have to check The Albinocorn's fimfiction page. Long Road to Friendship is the best Sunset fanfic I've ever read (and one of the best fanfics, too).

    Nuke's FIM Episode review thread

Between this and "Spike at your service", it really does seem like Spike is the one doing the whole leg work in their relationship. At least Twilight's followed him during Dragon Quest and The Gauntlet of Fire.
