Brief summary of 2016:
-
A duet that almost never happened. But aren't we all glad it did?

Fandom is life - Life is pain - Fandom is pain

I do think the borderless world with unexplored factors plays heavily into a fandom. If you look at, say, Avatar: The Last Airbender, you'll find no shortage of fanfiction despite the the show being decidedly more mature and ambiguous than FiM ever has been. But what it has working for it, much like FiM or SciFi marques with big fandoms, is a large and diverse world that seems primed and ready for exploring, even after the show spends much of its time doing just that. It offers a lot for the imagination to work with, and more creatively-minded fans jump all over that. -
Good writers who do their homework are necessary to guarantee continuity. If that happens, the number of writers isn't necessarily a huge problem.

Lots of rest, lots of fluids, some vitamin C, and just let it run its course.

Back in the days before satellite radio, most department stores used cassette tapes to play music over the store PA system, running in a continuous loop for as long as the store was open. The tapes would generally include deals of the month, special offers, and the like in between songs, and every month or so the store would replace the tape with a new one. The old tapes were generally discarded (as after a month of play they were pretty worn out). There's a guy who worked for a K-Mart in Illinois, though, who saved a bunch of the tapes from his store, and has uploaded them to Archive.org, where you can listen to them for free.

Shorts. I could theoretically wear a kilt, but... no thanks. Morning Person or Night Owl?

Three versions of The Beatles' song With a Little Help From My Friends have reached #1 on the British music charts. The Beatles' version was not one of them, as it was never released as a single.

We could just spray you with Lysol and Febreze.

I'd try it. Don't know if I'd like it, as I'm not the biggest beach person as it is, but I think it'd be fun to try, just to step out of the comfort zone a little bit and feel the wind, so to speak!
