Season 9, Episode 19: Dragon Dropped

Now if you're a Sparity shipper (which I am), the way Rarity reacted here, was of one realizing that the knight in shining armor/prince charming she's been looking for has been in front of her the whole time, and she didn't want to lose him. And from continuity standpoint, With what Spike gave her in BEST GIFT EVER, she want's to keep that LOVE Spike has for her, and she has for him, alive and strong!

Season 9, Episode 19: Dragon Dropped

I think one fan (upon the China release) said something along the lines of, "This just made the Sparity Ship a whole lot more stronger". Which one could agree with, especially when you take Pinkie's line at the end in or out of context. Also when one really thinks about it, episodes like this, have different points of view giving to them from the brony/pegasister community. Some may look at it as a closing to the Sparity ship, others (as mentioned above), see it as strengthening it, some see it as an episode that didn't belong in this final season (along some pervious episodes before), and some see it as Spike possibly getting a new ship tease giving to him, in the form of Gabby, etc..., etc.... And even through, I'm one of those that support the Sparity ship, and see this episode as indeed making it stronger. I see Rarity's actions, as not of one just being selfish (at times she was) or jealous (which she mostly was), but I like to take DisneyFanatics2364's "Bride of Discord" (Chapter/Episode 6 [14:07-19:37]) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhx_Gmqf3V8&t=1189s , as an example of Rarity releasing how Spike really means to her, and how much she's falling for him, but never really noticed till, 1. "The Best Gift Ever", the first 20secs of the mid-season 9 finale, and now with this episode, and him spending time with Gabby, instead of her, or even taking time to notice her. This reminded me a lot/if somewhat of Applejack's reaction towards Spike spending time with Rarity, and not noticing her. That's how I take Rarity's reactions in this episode, somewhat of being in that same camp as Applejack's in "BOD". Heck @BornAgainBrony said it best: Quote So just because it may seem otherwise, Josh Haber knew what he was doing. In fact, if you saw the trailer for the finale (and possibly the final 2 episodes), there is some Sparity moment's snuck in there, as a bit of a follow-up to this episode (kinda), and pervious episodes before it (from earlier seasons, and the prior season), as well as "TBGE" So I said above, episodes like this, have different points of view giving to them from the brony/pegasister community. It's just a matter of how one views it from the personal point of view. But for me, this was a good/decent Sparity final centric episode.
  4. With Episode 19 "Dragon Dropped" recently being released early in China, this is an episode that has fans discussing the Sparity topic,(mostly positive, from what've I seen being discussed at various social media sites), It seems that this episode may be the (somewhat) official canon ship of Rarity x Spike. The reason I say that, is because of the way Rarity reacts towards Spike hanging out with Gabby the Griffon, this is something we've never seen from Rarity, when it comes to Spike hanging out with another female character before, till now. Because of this, along with the ending, where Spike says he'll always want his Rarity time, it pretty much (somewhat officially) makes Sparity canon. Yet, there are those that still feel that this episode didn't do that, and feel it did the opposite Despite the visuals in front of them. However, let's be honest, we knew something like this episode was going to happen, especially when it was made official that S9 would be it. And when you look at the sudden (out of nowhere) resurgence of Sparity in S8, with the acknowledgements in "Break-Up, Break-Down, "Molt Down" (being a Sparity episode in someways), the few moments in the S8 finale, to the subplot, and ending between the two in "Best Gift Ever", to recently in the first 20 seconds of the mid-season 9 finale. Yeah, I would say that the hints were out there, that an episode of this kind would occur towards the end of the series. And guess what, it did with "Dragon Dropped". Now throughout the series, (even through s3-s7 were low-key on it's Sparity moments), one could say that this SHIP is one of the more naturally grown ones that have happened, despite nothing really being made truly official (semi, yes), like let's say Big Mac/Sugar Belle or Maud Pie/Mudbriar, still it getting to the points it's gotten too in recent seasons, one could say, that if we get something in the end (like an epilogue moment that takes place a few years later) that shows Spike and Rarity being officially together, then one would find that very believable, from a character development point, and a lingering sub-plot coming full circle, like it did with this episode. So despite this somewhat (in a semi way) making Sparity official, why do others hate Spike x Rarity? Well, (IMO), I don't think it's the age argument, that many have used since the beginning (just about), no, I think it's this moment And believe it or not, it stems all the way back to S2, and the episode "Secret of My Excess" , where Spike willing and genersoaly gave Rarity his fire ruby, which orginally he grew and riped for his birthday. And the reason this is the true reason (IMO), is because many feel that Rarity manipulated and sweet talked him into giving it to her, despite (using that word a lot here) everyone else, even the show staff that worked on that episode saying otherwise. As far as the age argument goes, even Jim Miller on Twitter has (in his own unique way) debunked that argument/theory. So in that way and in closing, if S9 EPS. 19 "Dragon Dropped" is the only (if not possibly last) Sparity centered episode of the series, we can at least agree that Sparity is (somewhat semi) official in the series now. Will we still get moments here and there in the remaining episodes (21-26) or the proposed (if it's still happening) Holiday special at the end of the year? That's kinda 50/50 right now, but I wouldn't put it pass the creative staff, if they did add some moments, like for example what I mentioned earlier, but we will have to wait and see. Anyway, I wanted to finally get this off my chest, and give my overall thoughts. But what do you here say. Comments and replies would be great to hear. Take Care and Brony On!
  5. From Gail Simone penning "Between Dark and Dawn" for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, for the first time. Some fans had somewhat mixed reactions, (mostly good), they question is asked, "Is it a good idea to bring in an outside write to pen a script for something they've never part of?" Well here I try to answer that. Comments are Welcomed #MLPSeason9 #GailSimone #BetweenDarkandDawn #DCComics

  7. (Audio Only). With "She's All Yak" teasing, if not pushing a Sandbar x Yona ship, it's got the shipping discussion up and running again. So here I discuss the shipping of characters, some that are canon, (semi or teased/hinted at), some that fans use moments and scenes to justify, and some that possibly that we don't see coming, but certain moments in the show could prove otherise. Here I discuss it all (as best I can) Comments are Welcomed #MLPSeason9 #MLPShipping #MyLIttlePonyFriendshipIsMagic #Romance #Love #Teased

    Season 9, Episode 7: She's All Yak

This episode to me, opened the door (more so than ever) for interspecies relationships to occur.in the show. I mean one of the messages (among the two given) was that it shouldn't matter what species (race), ethic, or cultural background you come from, that if you truly care (Love) someone, or in this case , somepony/someyak, for who they really are, then that's all that should matter. And the symbolism of the shooting star in the background, kind of, if not teases the fact that something "MORE" will happen between these two later on. This also opens the door for other interspecies relationships to happen, like let's say, Spike and Rarity, which by now (IMO) has been all, but officially confirmed. Don't believe me, check out "Best Gift Ever" and when Spike sings to Rarity, she gets stars/sparks in her eyes (better ex./compassion, the "Lady and The Tramp spaghetti scene) So yeah this episode imho opened, if not KNOCKED the door down for this to happen. Your Thoughts?

    Best Gift Ever Discussion

Did anyone not catch this small detail, Rarity has " Stars in her eyes" when Spike is singing to her. And if your a romantic or know anything about Romance storytelling, "Stars in their Eyes" at most times, means that was just a friendship, has now become something more. Just thought I'd point that out. ps. Don't be surprised if Sparity is subtle used in Season 9 (should it be the last).

    Best Gift Ever Discussion

I'm surprised, no one brought this up, When it Comes To "The Best Gift Ever" And mostly the drawing of the names and cutie marks, and who got who, more speificly, how this relates to three characters. When the drawing of names/cutie marks occurred,, (along with the trade), check out this unique situation, Spike (after the trade) got Rarity, and AppleJack got Spike., and Rarity got Applejack. So if you're a RaraJack, Sparity,or Appllespike shipping, I hope you saw what they did there.

  16. Overall the finale was pretty decent. There were some funny moments, from Starlight's sarcasm, to Rarity's "Woah", there were very light-hearted moments. Also, it was nice to see Cadance there at the meeting as well. And I will say, that things really picked up in the 2nd and 3rd act of Part 1 and really picked up in the 2nd part. As far as Cozy Glow goes, as a villain, she was exactly what was needed. A villain, that even in the moment was able to stay one step ahead, except when she disrespected the Tree of Harmony. Now as far as punishment, Some may agree with it and some will not. But let's be honest, yes Starlight and Tempest did things that deserve a sentience to Pony Alcatraz. But question, did they attempt murder on several occasions and not give a darn, some will say "yes" and that's fine. But were they willing to give friendship a second chance. The answer is yes. Especially when you understood their backstories. But what about Cozy? Well let's see, she mocked what the elements were about, was going to let the Young Six and Starlight die, heck she was already technically killing Starlight by having her kept in that orb, tricked the Mane 6 and Spike into traveling into Tatruas and trapping them there., Drained all the Magic from Equestria, then try to escape to another school to continue her plan, and through all that, not once did she give a flying F*** about anyone but herself. So yeah, I'd say she got what she deserved in the end. Overall, again as I said, a pretty decent finale. What you say?

Season 8, Episode 23: Sounds of Silence

As far as the episode goes, like I said, Highly Recommended. I mean everyone played a great role. AppleJack's reaction to Autumn Blaze and her personality was great, especially when Fluttershy was surprised Blaze talked and AJ's response was "You have Nooo Idea", I thought was overall a great moment. The animation was very fluid and beautiful to look at. Especially the design of the Kirin. Their designs made each stand out. You can defineinitly tell that AllSpark Animation had a hand in the animation here (those that worked on the movie that is). Overall it's one of the best eps of the season, if not the series. For me it has almost a Disney Renaissance vibe to it, I think that's due to the Song Blaze sings, the way it's presented, just has the classic Disney Renaissance feel to it. I hope Hasbro/Allspark/DHX convinced Rachel Bloom to reprise her role as Autumn Blaze next season. Because I already have a idea of how she could return. Have her come to Ponyville to visit AJ and FS, have her meet the rest of Mane 6 and Starlight, and of course Spike, and when she sees Spike and He sees her, well let's just say, ya all want him to get over Rarity, Right? But yeah, I hope she comes back in S9. 10/10 OVERALL!

Season 8, Episode 23: Sounds of Silence

Here I review the newest (as far as North America and the U.S. is concerned), "Sounds of Silence", which is one of the best episodes of the season, if no the series. Highly recommend you see it. 19. Speculation on What Season 9 (The Last Season?) of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Will Be Like: 1 Speculation: How Grogar will be introduced. Well, I believe we will be introduced to him around or at the end of the Season 9 premiere, and find out that he is responsible for Sombra’s return. Also, as I speculated before, we may (throughout the season) find out that he was responsible for the dark magic (Nightmare, Pony of Shadows, etc..) being in Equestria. I also feel that with him being hyped up as the baddest of the bad in the series, that the Mane 6/7 will have to gain some kind of power (similar to Season 4) to fight him. 2 Speculation: Like the Pillars in Season 7, Gusty and Her Unicorn Warriors will turn out to be real, and that power that I said the Mane 6/7 will need to gain to fight Grogar, well that power will be identical to the Power of Gusty and Her Unicorn Warriors. However, the major difference will be, that when the Mane 6/7 use that power, it will temporarily turn them into Alicorns to fight Grogar, with Twilight (already an Alicorn) growing to Celestia size in the process. 3 Speculation: Romance will finally be centered on members of the Mane 6/7 and Spike. What I mean by this, is that a number of MLP Ships may finally happen. 1 ship: Rarity x Spike, now should they go down this route and finally make this ship a reality, they could do it in a very subtle way. Meaning, that they could use an episode to make it official, but have done in a way, so that when the next episode comes around, it be like it never happened, but you’ll know it did. 2 ship: Starlight x Sunburst. Now should they finally test this ship, it could really be interesting to see how they set it up, so that their friendship grows into something more throughout the season, till finally we get to the episode where the romance between the two finally happens. 3 Ship: That would be Spike and AppleJack, that is if the writers want to take their little teasing joke from the MLP SDCC 2018 panel seriously and make it a reality. I mean if you ask some fans, they will say that there is plenty of evidence on the show to make it happen. 4 ship: Once again, this one has Spike as part of it, but this is one no one has thought of yet, you ready for this: Spike x Autumn Blaze. Think about it, this character is already gaining a fanbase, and she hasn’t even officially debut yet. And knowing how this show works, they are probably already planning to bring her back in Season 9, and should they do that, I think an eventual meeting with Spike is very likely to happen. I mean the way I picture it, is Autumn Blaze comes to Ponyville to meet up with Fluttershy and AppleJack. Now in the process, they introduce her to the rest of the Mane 6/7, which of course includes Twilight, thus Twilight introduces Spike who enters the picture, he and Autumn make eye contact, and you go from there. Also, think of this way, Autumn is a Kirin (pony/dragon hybrid with antlers), and hey Spike could get the best of both worlds here. And besides, some of you want him to be over Rarity, right? 4 Speculation: Celestia will ascend to a higher plane and join the Alicorn’s (original guardians of Equestria) that came before to watch over Equestria in Spirit, and Twilight will be chosen to be her successor. Or She will step down, and chose Twilight to be her successor, and then follow the same path her original mentor, Starswirl has been doing, and that’s travel across the world, helping other ponies and creatures along the way. 5 Speculation: The Mane 6/7 will pass down the Elements of Harmony to The Young/Student 6/5?, thus allowing them to move on with their lives, knowing Equestria’s future is in good hooves/hands. 6 and Final Speculation: As I mentioned at the start, with Grogar being hyped as this big bad, basically the Thanos of MLP: FIM, what if like Thanos, in one last ditch effort to win, he pulls out a trump card by casting a magic spell that softly reboots/retcons everything, thus leading us in G5 (should it happen) on a cliffhanger, that would make you want to watch G5 when it premieres to see what happened or is the end result. Now I wouldn’t put past the creative team to do this, especially if it gets the MLP Community to tune into G5 when it premieres (should it do so). Anyway, those are just my speculations on what could happen/occur come Season 9 (should it be the last season of FIM). But what do you think, do you agree with my speculations? What are yours? Let me and everyone else know. God Bless and Take Care.
  20. With "Rollercoaster of Friendship" recently airing, the redemption at the end of Vignette Valencia, has gotten everyone talking again about how redemption should be utilized in both shows, when it comes to redeeming certain characters. And apparently Vignette's didn't sit well with a majority of the fans. And from what I understand, is for good reason, 1. the way she was portrayed throughout most of the special, seem to not really warrant a redemption or for fans to feel sympathy for her. And 2. Her actions spoke and showed that she's a character that needs more development before a proper redemption. But here's the thing, the writers/creative staff, they may write a good to great story for an episode/Special/Movie for EQG or FIM, but at the end of the day, they don't have the final say on how it's presented, Those above them at Hasbro, and DHX have the final say. Don't believe me, ask M.A Larson, he discussed this during a panel last year, when it came to how "Fame and Misfortune" was presented. For example, if it's decided that Cozy Glow gets redeemed at the end of this current season, despite what she has and will do, that's going to happen. If it's decided that Principal Cinch or Finch in Friendship Games gets redeemed in a future EQG Movie/Special, despite what she's done, it's going to happen. Same can be said for Cryissy, Triek, Lighting Dust, Wynn Rider, etc.... The point is, wither we as fans or the creative staff themselves feel a redemption should happen or not, in the end, it's the heads at Hasbro and DHX that have the final say on that decision. A good outside example of this, is WWE, and how despite everyone telling them otherwise, Roman Reigns is still getting pushed down all the fans throats, and getting a possibly rematch at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam event against Brock Lesnar for their Universal Title. And why is this happening, despite everyone outside and inside WWE saying otherwise, because at the end of the day, despite being able to book and write a good show, the creative staff don't have the final say on who should be pushed, Vince McMahon does. And in a strange way, the same can be said here. Because again, even if the fans and even the creative staff believe a redemption is needed or not, they don't have the last word, those above them at Hasbro and DHX have the final say. Anyway, that's all I have to say about that, let me know what you think about what I had to say here. Take Care and God Bless.
  21. https://mlpforums.com/topic/178267-s08e15-the-end-in-friend/ Here's a bit of "spoilers" : The title is just for the younger audience, we know that they will remain friends. Heck, when you think of it, this may the "Rollercoaster of Friendship" Of FIM S8 And we also know, that they'll find something to do together or help each other be more tomboysih (Rainbow helping Rarity) or feminity (Rarity helping Rainbow). But come on, we know that writing staff wouldn't break off the friendship of two of the Mane 7. So again the ending is predictable (story may be really good overall) , however we have to remember the title is for the younger audience watching. Because at the end of the day, the creative staff has to be reminded, that is a show for kids (and to sell toys)
