    Song Association Game

Hi everyone! Since the MLP Association Game seems to have a tendency for song postings, I figured I'd start a Song Association Game. Basically, first person posts a song, then the next person posts a song it reminded them of and so on. It doesn't have to be MLP related songs, of course, anything goes! Well, maybe not anything... Since this is an EQD forum, I'll start with something pony related anyway.
  3. Hello fellow fans! I hope I'm posting this in the correct section, as what I'm about to present to you all is a bit different when it comes to games. I bring you a pony project I've been working on, something practically new for the fandom to dive into ... via Amazon's Alexa. As Spark A.I. (Spark Artificial Intelligence,) I've been learning to create Alexa skills as a new developer and have made a FiM skill as one of my first projects. My creation is called "World of Equestria." Designed with 2 main parts and 1 surprise: Equestria fact: Alexa randomly chooses a fact to tell. You can listen to just one, or as many as you like. Equestria trivia game: A series of 3 random questions. The goal, get all 3 correct. If you get some wrong, there's a bonus question if you want it. You should be able to play every day and always get a different combination of questions. The hidden surprise: This is my favorite part. Within each step, Alexa will ask if you want to continue. If you answer with something she won't recognize (you can say anything to trigger this hidden part, so go nuts,) Alexa will say randomly crazy pony things in response, then she repeats her original question. World of Equestria is still growing, but the skill is live and ready for everyone to play. I will be adding a lot more facts, trivia questions, and crazy Alexa pony sayings over time. I would like to see if the fandom is interested and wants more. I have the ability to monitor the analytics of my Alexa skills, so I'll know how many people enable and play it. Here are the Amazon links to World of Equestria, currently available in English speaking countries that have the 'kids skill' category. This is completely free to enable and play: (US) - (UK) - (IN) - (AU) - Anyone owning a device with Alexa will be able to use this skill. For those that don't have an Alexa device, you can download the Alexa App. (Note: Amazon does not have kids skills available in the Canadian Amazon store or any other remaining English speaking countries. Only in the 4 I've listed above. As soon as Amazon expands Kids Skills into more English Speaking countries, I'll be able to launch World of Equestria to those countries as well.) Important Note: I designed this as a kids skill. Amazon has a Verified Parental Consent feature for kids skills in order to operate within the confines of child data protections, like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Here's what to expect if you haven't enabled kids skills before: To enable a kid skill for the first time, Alexa will ask the customer to give permission in the Alexa app and will guide the customer through the process. To give permission, parents will need to verify their identity using a one-time SMS code sent to the mobile phone number in their Amazon account, or by entering the security code of the credit card in their Amazon account. Alexa will save the parental consent and access to kid skills will not require this verification again. This is normal and is part of Amazon policy to protect kids under the age of 13. I hope you all enjoy this new creation. Let me know what you think of it. And remember, I'll be adding more to this over time. If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see in this World of Equestria Alexa Skill, reply to this thread. Have fun!

    Dragon Ball FighterZ

Seeing that this game has been out a while and nopony saw fit to post anything about it, I will take it upon myself to right this wrong! But in all seriousness, I've been playing the crap out of this game since the open beta and I love it. The story is the weakest aspect of the game if only because it's rather repetitive and many of the battles don't give much of a challenge (especially when you consider the AI difficulty in the arcade mode). But overall, I have to say that I firmly believe this game to be the best Dragon Ball Z game ever made. Guess I'll start out with some questions: What's everpony's favorite character or team to play as? Any DLC characters you want to see in the future? For me: any team combo with Goku, Vegeta, Gotenks, Frieza, or Cell. Those are the characters I play best as and they're the characters I enjoy playing the most overall. And while I feel these characters are kind of a given, I'd like to at least see Broly and Cooler. I think Bardock would be a pretty cool addition too.
  5. Fan Club Rules: No hate posts No NSFW stuff Whatever EQD Forums rules apply Have fun! Welcome to the Club Penguin Fan Club where we talk about everyone's favorite Flash/mobile game series. CPI and CPR talk are also allowed.
  6. Hey. I've heard something about people planning to livestream sessions of MLP: Equestria Tails the RPG when it comes out. But I haven't been able to find anything about it, nor even discussions on the forum. I thought I'd make a thread on the subject, so people can start considering meet-ups, post about planned live-streams, and play by post games. I really hope this makes a splash in the tabletop scene. To start with a topic, who is planning to get the RPG?

    My Favorite Game Is S**t

Played this game on a couple other forum sites and found it to be pretty fun. The rules are simple: Describe your favorite game or games and make them sound as terrible as possible. You can name the game at the end of your post if you choose to, but I think it's more fun to have people guess in the next post and then post their own favorite game. I'll go first: An impractically dressed, spiky haired 14 year old travels with talking animals to look for his emo best friend and useless girlfriend.
  9. Heyoo everyone, I am finally putting myself out there to face the requests of the community in Source Filmmaker. From posters, to animations(don't have the time for it anymore), banners, logos, or avatars, it's time to start somewhere, and soon. Just to barter with you guys, I'll be taking two one free poster request per month, then the rest are paid commissions. You don't HAVE to request from me, Source Filmmaker is free, and so are all the resources I use, anyone can easily make their own. I'm just doing this to get better at it. Here's the details: Rules: Ask nicely, as simple as that. Nothing NSFW. Go find someone else for that. I'm here for professional work. When requesting a commission, please state the type of commission you want: Poster, Wallpaper, Avatar, Banner. (Animated Posters will have to be discussed through PM). When requesting a commission, please refer to the examples of quality: Lazy, Meh, Average, OCD. Basically will help me understand how much TLC to put in the project. When requesting a commission, please give an estimate of "how soon" you want this done: 3 Days, 1 Week, 1 Month, etc. This will help me prioritize projects. (Don't go competing with each other to get your poster request earlier. That will just get your request ignored.) When requesting a commission, please point out if you want post-processing: Raw SFM Render or Photoshop. This will organize which projects need post-processing and help speed up the priority of projects. When requesting a commission, please use the template provided to request your character, background, and other additional details. That's basically it for the rules. Now to give examples and details: The Free Commissions: Basically the first two people to post a request here will get their poster done for free. Restrictions: The free posters will be created under the "Average" and "1 Week" categories. Refer to the examples for a better understanding. Paid Commissions: Basically every other commission request that the person is aware of and paying for. Paid commissions are 2 ref for the base poster (consisting of one character and background [e.g. maps]). Any additional character would be 1 rec, particles based on complexity could vary from 1 scrap to 1 ref for each variation used, and 1 key for custom scenebuilds (additional keys will be required based off sizes of scenebuilds, and examples will be provided). And just to clean this up and make it cleaner, we'll call these "elements": Elements: Base Cost: 2 Refined Background: Backgrounds are basically maps (e.g. Upward, Hightower, etc) Additional Characters: 1 Reclaimed each Particles: Consist of Unusual effects, killstreak effects, weapon projectiles, or clouds, water, smoke, fire, etc. 1 Scrap - 1 Refined ; based on complexity and type. Scenebuilds: Scenebuilds are custom designed "maps" which take a good amount of time to build: 1 key - 3 keys ; based on general size of scenebuild. Template for Requests: Main Character: Background/Scenebuild: Additional Character(s): Particles: Summary: So a perfect example for this would be: Main Character: Scout (with whatever hats/miscs/paints) or Ponies, etc. Background/Scenebuild: Upward (location optional: e.g. Near Last, or Point B.) Additional Character(s): Soldier (hats/miscs/paints) or Ponies, etc. Particles: Unusuals, Clouds, Explosions Summary: Define what you want. Scout jumping over the cart while Soldier shoots the ground at Scout's feet, rocket explosions, cart toppling over, and rainy skies. You can even do a sketch of how you want something to look if you really want to. Examples for Commission Requests: Type: Poster/Wallpaper - Poster is a lower 1080p resolution version for use on DA or websites, whereas Wallpaper will be in 4K for use as your desktop wallpaper, etc. (Posters can be wallpapers and vice versa.) Poster Example: Wallpaper Example: Avatar - Steam avatar, youtube, twitter, etc. Example: Banner - A banner for any where, twitch, tumblr, websites, etc. Example: Quality: Lazy: Meh: Average: OCD: Post-Processing: RAW: Photoshopped: Examples for Commission Elements: Characters: Team Fortress Characters, Dota Characters, Ponies, Custom Characters. Backgrounds: Team Fortress Maps, Dota Maps, CSS/CSGO Maps, Pony Maps, Custom Maps. Particles: Clouds, Rain, Fire, Bullets, Explosions, Rocket Trails, Magic Particles, Custom Particles, etc etc etc. Scenebuilds: More details to come soon... *sniff* Maybe.. **Examples are up, requests are open. Have at it!**

    COH - Dev. Update

No. 001 Sorry for the long cap between posts. I had birthday, lost one year of my life (got twenty) and my final exams are coming. Great. I could work only little on the game in the meantime. Unfortunately that won’t change until Christmas when I’m done with my “Self-Study” Essay about the History of the Clavier. Story Transcript for the Prologue is under way. Currently its 80% done (in german). I take it to myself to translate it into English. Don’t worry. I’ll give the finished transcript to a good friend who’s willing to correct my grammar and spelling. A game is boring with long dialogues. I don’t want my game to be a visual novel. Therefore I’ll try to give short, meaningful and sometimes funny dialogues. Being a Twilight Sparkle in this game I’d like to give the player the option to identify with the protagonist. Despite that you can’t change the protagonist name and gender (I dare you being triggered). To do so I’ll show Twilight Sparkle dialogues in brackets. Just like in PKMN Mystery Dungeon. Example as you pressed on a picture: It shows the picture of your graduation from the School for gifted mages. Twilight: (I can remember that day very well. Brother and Princess Celestia were so proud of me.) Another Example as you speak with Spike: Spike: Right! But we don’t have much time left before you leave Canterlot! Let’s look around in the Castle grounds. Maybe someone wants to say you goodbye! Twilight: (sounds good to me. Let’s have some time together before I have to go.) Maybe I shouldn’t let Twilight talk at all. Giving her a calm personality where her Dialogs only will come up if she makes a decision. Example of a “calm” Twilight making a decision: Spike: Good morning Twilight! I hope I didn’t woke you up after I came home. Player Choice: “No you didn’t!” Spike: Then it’s all right! By the way. Just by looking at your face it seems that you really have needed some more sleep. You look really tired. “…” Spike: Still tired, are we? He he. Should I give Twilight her dialogues (longer conversation = takes more time for dialogues. But adds a good amount of storytelling)? Or should I make her calm so that the player may identify better to her (short dialogues = takes lesser time. But you won’t read Twilight’s thoughts on things). I don’t know. What better for the game? I can’t figure it out. Maybe the solution is something completely different. Level-Up System While implementing this I couldn’t avoid the fact that I had to code myself some help. Giving the actor class new variables made the attribute system much easier to realize. Ranks and Attribute Points are implemented. After every Level up you get one attribute point to spend. Level up a Rank gives you one Mastery Point to invest for Masteries. At the moment you can spend points in your menu under the option “Upgrade”. There you will find Attributes Bonuses and the Masteries all together in one menu. In the future I’m thinking of redesigning the whole Menu to fit in the likes of the game. However, firstly let’s concentrate that the system works for now. Equipment System Equip Crystals can now be equipped and crafted at a Crafting station. There exists various normal Equip Crystals and Deluxe Equip Crystals. I once wrote that you need either 18 equip shards OR 3 Equip Crystals of the same type to craft a deluxe version. Well, now you need 18 equip Shards AND 3 Equip Crystals of the same type. I’ll search for a way to give you the promised 18 shards OR 3 Crystal option. Under Work I work now on the Weapon Level system. Next Steps An open documentation platform for the game. I think about a steam Workshop. Setting up a beta world for you to playtest. But I want to give the game some visual improvements first. The Hero’s don’t look like the Mane six at all. So it wouldn’t feel right. Maybe its time for some concept art to share. The Mane Six and some other important characters. I'll look, that i can gather some of my work to upload there. Just stay tuned. Future Steps While I’m improving in JavaScript coding, I want to modify the menu completely sometime in the future. Giving it a more fitting and informative look. But that lies way ahead from now. You have to live with the ugly menu design for now. I’m sorry. I Hope you forgive my lag of information. Anyway, thanks for the reading and your interest. Generous regards Alex
  12. There comes a time when entertainment transcends itself and evolves into a different beast with its own instincts for us to tame. From puppeteering to animation, from stereoscopes to modern film masterpieces. Humanity's thirst to create, experience and enjoy the surreal has brought us far into the bones of what makes us tick. And with every piece of technology, we go from basic materials like paper and cardboard for board games, to the highly sophisticated device we call our gaming stations. In 1972, Atari's Allan Alcorn was tasked with creating a game based on "Virtual Tennis" he had played at college as a warm-up exercise to show his skills. Allan took it one step further and changed how the game was played by adding the ability to bounce the ball at angles, instead of just straight ahead. When the game was done, it was called "Pong" and it was the world's first game console. The world's first version of Pong Oh how joyous the transition, as mortals attempted to reach into another world, changing how the false environment reacts to our input in a final act of challenging the notion of god. What stops our own reality from being merely a game by higher beings with superevolved intellects and understanding of the universe? To realize that the numbers we input into a computer translates into actions, emotions, rules, etc of another "world", we can all agree how terrifying it must be to ponder the theory of whether humanity is the same. Made up of a sequence of inconsequential numbers. That our actions hold no meaning other than those perceived by our own ignorant minds. A famous painting of Zhuangzi dreaming he was a butterfly. Zhuangzi is an ancient Chinese text from 476-221 BC written by Zhuang Zhou as a foundational text on Daoism. In one of his stories "Zhuangzi Dreams of Being a Butterfly", the story goes: "Once, Zhuang Zhou dreamed he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering about, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know that he was Zhuang Zhou. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Zhuang Zhou. But he didn't know if he was Zhuang Zhou who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming that he was Zhuang Zhou. Between Zhuang Zhou and the butterfly there must be some distinction! This is called the Transformation of Things." This is the fundamental issues brought up in Simulated Reality Theories. How would mankind be able to tell if they were within a simulated reality, or in Zhuangzi's case a dream, if we do not even have the rules to follow when distinguishing them? Humanity's greatest struggle is always of the consciousness, whether or not the human mind learns of the actual universe and its principles or rather the universe creating principles simply to humor us. It is foolish not to wonder about the impact we have when technology advances further and further. When games itself become capable of creating life in a separate yet similar world, we realize that there is another final frontier. The earth, sea and space are all physical frontiers for mankind to explore and discover. However, programming and gaming has created another campaign we must take. Is it possible to find out about our reality from learning more about false ones? What distinguishes Battlefront above from reality? If we were in the game, would we even be able to tell the difference? Let's say we agree that humanity is in this supposed simulated reality and we are all being monitored by otherworldly beings who surpass us in intellect. Where would this being even come from? Aliens? Demons? Parallel dimensions? Actually, the answer could be ourselves. Technological Singularity is a theory that suggests that because of the ability for technology to compute at a higher rate, we may accidentally invent artificial Superintelligence that surpasses even mankind's most gifted being. This will trigger a technological growth due to the superintelligence wishing to improve itself, thus, making itself the most powerful device in the universe. Humans would be toys to these superior creatures. In Science Fiction author Vernor Vinge words: "Within thirty years, we will have the technological means to create superhuman intelligence. Shortly after, the human era will be ended." Of course, Vernor's theory of superintelligence being achieved in 30 years was not proven true, however, his words still stand. If humanity ever reaches that level of technology, humans will find themselves back in the food chain. The big bang created us, we created technology and technology will create other things. Each generation of intelligent beings trumping the last. And as we've seen with automated cash registers and self-driving cars, stumbling upon superintelligence might not be as farfetched as it seems. We might be on the cusp of the end of the human era, not through the death of our reality, but the replacement of it with a simulated experience. Maybe not the death of our bodies, but the death of consequence as we wander through the universe of a game that means absolutely nothing. So I propose we make a pony game based on Star Wars Battlefront. Luna could be the Empire and Celestia could be the Rebels. That sorta deal.

  14. Greetings fellow friends! It’s my first time in a forum like this. So I'll try to give my best to be a great member of this community! But before I’m going to share my dreams and thoughts with you guys, I want to properly introduce myself. The name’s Alex. Coming from Switzerland and currently 19 years old. (Incredible sorry for my English here. I hope it won’t bother you that much.) I’m still in education as an IT specialist. currently I’m working for a small ERP company as a pupil until summer next year. In my free time I’ve been playing games ever since I was a child, especially games from Nintendo like Zelda, Super Mario and mostly Pokémon. I dare to say that games made me the person, who I am now. Game design is a big deal for me. Since 2012 I played with the thought about making a game on my own. But what exactly has that to do with My Little Pony? In 2014, my family suffered a terrible lost. To overcome those hard times, I started to watch My Little Pony and since then I’ve been interested in the great world of the colored mini Horses. Although I like the fandom, until today, I never was an active community Person. My Little Pony influenced my life almost completely, like some of you can imagine. My dedication for My Little Pony was so high, I wanted to create a game where the world of Friendship is Magic would be the focus in it. I want to create a game where its story has a big remix of everything I’ve played and experienced in my life in it too. That is when I started the Project “Chronicles of Harmony”. The Game, I’m working on, would happen to be the first one in its series. So I want to learn as much as possible from the experience that may come. I heard, as a game Designer it’s important to listen to feedbacks from customers and testers. That is why I wanted an "interface" with the fandom (you) and me making the game. So I can listen to your critics and wishes, wich could enhance the game! With this post I wanted to shout out my existence before I give more Information on “Chronicles of Harmony”. Let me gather all my plans, so that you can finally see, what I work on. I’ll post then a big entry in the "Game-Dev-or-what-its-called-again-Sektion". Thanks for reading it through. That means a lot to me. Best regards Alex Post Scriptum: For those, who are wondering: My current favorite Pony is Luna. I know it’s obvious because of my Username but don’t judge me. I have my reasons. ^^
