Overtaker's Children - Interest Check

The Overtaker... To those who do not know him, the name sounds almost threatening. To those who know him as an ally, it proves to be a most amusing nickname. To those who know him as an enemy, the name is very fitting.

The Overtaker has been alive for longer than anybody else on earth, and has managed to maintain a modest appearance and energy level. He manages his health very well. Although, it mostly comes from the magnitude of his 'Gift.'

The Overtaker, publicly known as Oswald Tobias, is the oldest and most respected among a very rare breed of human; almost unheard of in modern society. The Gifted are humans born with unique powers derived from their spirit, personality and various other factors. As the oldest of The Gifted, 'Oswald' is by and large retired from The Gifted community. He acts as an observer, guide and advisor to other Gifted people. But most notably, he runs what is essentially an orphanage for those Gifted who are young and just beginning to discover their unique, inner power.

Nobody is exactly sure why Orphans are Gifted so much more frequently then those with living biological parents, but The Overtaker has made it his life's mission to teach them of the powers they have, and make sure they are ready for the dangers they will face as Gifted. After all, hiding in the shadows are strange creatures of supernatural origin called The Kiga. These beings seem to hunger for The Gifted, and will move to devour them wherever they appear.

And in short, this is the world you will find yourselves being thrust into.

So, in non-exposition and narrative terms, this is an Idea my older brother and I came up with some time ago. It never really got anywhere, but it still re-enters my mind on occasion. Put simply, it would be similar to a shonen anime or manga, though hopefully with more of a focus on good storytelling and less on really long fights. The way I could see it working is players come up with the first level of their character's power, and as the story progresses it can naturally evolve and develop with the character based on their own experiences and changes,

But all that said, how does it sounded to everyone else? Anyone feasibly interested?
