I'm not sure what my least favorite is... but the whole Spike at your Service thing, I agree with. Spike deserves a little bit more respect. And my favorite character... take a glance at my profile picture. RAINBOW DASH FOREVER!!!!
Mystic Thunder 811 Report post Posted June 8, 2017 My favorite episode: I have to say it's a tie between Newbie Dash (because I can draw parallels between finally making the Drumline, and Rainbow finally becoming a Wonderbolt- complete with that whole nickname debacle), and Crusaders of the Lost Mark (because that cute little trio finally getting their cutie marks is ALWAYS a win, and because the CMC were classy enough to care about Diamond Tiara after she was a massive jerk for the entire series thus far). Both episodes gave the fans a little something-something they wanted, but also managed to show that it's all rainbows and butterflies (wait... I just said that. Crap). My LEAST favorite episode: This is one with yet another tie. Pinkie Pride almost felt forced, and it came really close to ruining Pinkie Pie's character as I had come to understand her. Add to this the fact that this was the episode with the Weird Al cameo (which I had looked forward to, and then didn't recognize), and it felt like the episode was relying on that cameo to excuse the (quite literal) deflation of Pinkie's rock-solid (pun intended) resolve to remain cheerful. Similarly, Viva Las Pegasus had a real opportunity to capitalize on helping Flim and Flam reconnect as brothers (and friends), but it seemed to fall flat on its face. Playing a pun based on a song performed by Elvis, Viva Las Vegas, it seemed to attempt a recovery by having a series of references to Elvis himself in the form of the Casino's owner- ultimately, however, these jokes left the building having most likely been completely missed by the show's intended audience, and having been barely caught by someone LOOKING for said Easter Eggs. Relying on Flim and Flam's underhanded tactics, which COULD have had the potential to pull off a Leverage-worthy storyline, and ruining a stallion's image all without even offering a chance for him to reflect on the errors of his ways, it almost felt as if the show had forgotten its identity... Favorite Character: Princess Luna. She's the lone wolf of the 2 sisters, working through the night to ensure the safety of Equestria (as well as good dreams for all). She puts all she has into her duties, and even though few appreciate her efforts she never gives up. Now THAT'S something I can relate to (the give it your all, even if nobody notices bit)...
