Heya, everypony.  I'm heading to Manehattan soon.  I haven't been there in over a decade, so I was wondering -- where should I eat?  I don't want to spend hours searching for the perfect spot (at least not every day), but I also don't want to get stuck eating at Hayburger because I can't think of anything better.

Last time I was there, I went to a dumpling house in Chineigh town, The Lucky ... Somethingorother.  It was great and I think I'd recognize it if I saw it.  Some of the street food was really good, others really mediocre, and aside from that, I really don't remember.

So, any locals or frequent visitors have any suggestions?  I'm up for just about anything, as long as it doesn't involve meat.  (Once I wandered into a minotaur bar-and-grill, and the smell of grilling pig meat put me off of dinner.)

dear sweet celestia, please make a hayburger your absolute last choice. i'd rather swan dive into a back alley dumpster than settle for that filth.

but in all seriousness, i believe you're talking about The Lucky Palace? it's hard to be sure since 'lucky' seems to be a favored adjective to chineighse restaurateurs. it's got a gold fountain outside of it in the street. not real gold, though. it's painted concrete with a nice glaze to really make it glitter.

Yes!  The Lucky Palace with the glittery fountain out front!  Thank you so much!  I was afraid I'd have to wander Chineigh Town checking all the restaurants until I found the right one.  I hope they haven't changed the recipe on the dumplings.

Last time I was in Manehattan, I ate at the Four Seasons.  You know, that super-classy restaurant with the Pegasus cuisine, and the themed rooms with the meteorological decorations.  According to ManeHatter magazine, it lost its lease because the new owners of the Seapony Building want to build a better restaurant.  One that will probably cost a foreleg and a hindleg to eat at.  (Rather than just a foreleg, like the old restaurant.)

Anyone know of another super-classy place with almost reasonable pricing?

Also, are there any good ethnic dives I could eat at?  I'm up for anything -- Germane food, Fillypino food, Yak food; I don't care.  I'll even eat one of those legendarily dry Griffin quickbreads, as long as they don't stuff them with ground meat.

I have heard that Chateau Lower Manehatten (I have no idea why it is called Chateau, they aren't even any castle's in Manehatten) makes great Prance cuisine for a reasonable price. Great wines to, but the staff can be a bit stuck up. I was forced to wear a suit when it was 30 degrees Celsius outside, OUTSIDE on the patio. Really, who forces somepony to wear a suit when it is that hot?

For the rest, try the Alpine Meadow if you want some Germane food. There Spätzle are simply divine.
