imo, the Reliant is the most aesthetically pleasing ship to date. I don't own one, though. I was SO tempted to buy, but I decided that my Aurora LN is enough. Well, that and my Orion. Anyone wanna man a tractor beam?

The reliant does however fly vertically as it has alien tech, so it does look a little unique in flight, but a two seater hauler is a nice upgrade, and I have flown it a little, the wings just swoop into vertical and off you go.

Of course the seats spin to stay upright, which means copilot is sitting under you, whacky but fun.

You people and yer fancy-shmancy Alien tech ships. I'm sticking with my trusty Aurora for now. Might get a Caterpillar or Carrack down the line. Depends on what I decide to do.

Come to think of it, I could have gone with a Mustang but the Aurora's a lot more versatile.

Also, If there's enough of us around here we can make a Corp.

You know what Hype is? A kindling you put below something you want to cook into a tasty meal. You put enough and the thing will be yummy-yummy project. You put too much, you gonna burn your project to a crisp. You put as much as Star Citizen did and you gonna burn a friggin forest and maybe some towns next to it. If this project will be all tasty and yummy with this much, I'll eat my cheesburger. I'm gonna eat it anyways though. But I won't hold my breath. Not literally, I'll choke otherwise.
 Erk, nevermind.

They released a Capital Ship trailer 2 days ago, looks wonderful.

It's a Cinematic showcase of the Idris Corvette, Javelin Destroyer and Bengal Carrier.

She's the only ship I have that's original. Every other one has either been melted at some point or purchased with store credits. For all the options for fighters and bombers and military craft it's the civie jobs that excite me the most. Will I be seeing you as a fellow space fuel trucker or are you content with chewing up asteroids in your Orion?

Oh, the Orion is an investment that I plan to sell once in appreciates enough. I keep it around so that I can have a Constellation right now. It is so tempting to keep it though. Mining looks like a lot of fun, but I don't think I have enough interested friends to do it! I do have enough friends to man my shiny new RELIANT TANA though!

Somebody at RSI derped and made it $65, so again this might be a future sell. As I said above though, I love the Reliant and I need some kinda fighter for my org, so I might keep it.

Mining has never had that much of an appeal to me but I completely agree that the mechanics certainly sound interesting. My biggest hope for a lucrative mechanic is that of salvaging. Neither do I have but a friend or two that I could count on as steady crewmates to employ onboard the likes of a Reclaimer, so my fingers are crossed that there will be enough out there to keep an NPC crew paid.

Ah yes, the Reliant. The ship that I disliked from a design point but came to admire once I saw it in flight. The rotational wing is a lot of fun to watch. I have a Sen for some light science but I think I'll melt it down since it doesn't feature built-in accommodations. What org have you joined? I'm currently part of UEE Fuel Services. It's like a Starfarer fan club, but if you ever need someone in a turret or want a lift in my Vanguard I'm always up for a bit of a skirmish.

Yeah, I lot of of people have mentioned the fact that no one seems to plan on being crew, meaning that at launch there will be a surplus of captains and a shortage of mates. Of course, CIG has promised NPCs to fill those rolls, but even if Moon Collider manages to make competent bots, it will certainly be a lot less fun than playing with your buddies. We're really in uncharted territory here. No one knows how the economy and the culture will be effected by so many people entering the game with such late-game ships. Personally I plan on starting with an an Aurora LN (the first of my three ships and my darling) and working up from there. I might cheat a bit and use my new Reliant for org operations.

...Which brings me to the topic of my org. I'm so glad you asked. I am a recruiter, so allow me to do some recruiting:

Do you feel like there aren't enough ponies in your Star Citizen? Not enough Star Citizen in your ponies? Are you are you a friendly team-player with a professional attitude and a penchant for murder? If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions, you might be looking for Iron Pony Merc Corp™! We're a team of (mostly) fighter pilots who take contracts for escort, seek-and-destroy, and all other purposes for which you might want some starfighters on your payroll. Although we expect commitment and professionalism in our members, we appreciate that everyone is playing to have fun, and sometimes piloting a fighter isn't the most fun thing for a person. We also have really neat forum signatures!

That's a good plan. I wish I had tempered my enthusiasm back when I was single and had far too much disposable income for my own good. Now I'm sitting on a lot of ships that I had originally wanted to earn in-game, but they're all tied to one the old pledge packages from the Kickstarter days. I envy your smaller, more manageable fleet.

I'm always looking for cross-org affiliations since UFS is but a loose grouping of folks with a single-minded love for fuel hauling and refining. My starfighting skills are nothing to brag about, which is why I have nothing that could be classified as a light fighter, but I'll give your folks a look-see.

Hopefully it doesn't become the next No Man's Sky. Doubt anything else could be that much of a letdown, but you never know.

I bought the cheapest package for Star Citizen that I could several years ago. Need to talk to RSI about account recovery since I can't even seem to remember which email address I used for registration. Definitely not buying it again if they won't help me.

From what I've heard they're pretty competent in what they do, so account recovery shouldn't be an issue.

In other news there's been a ton of posts on their website including a few Top Gear style videos on the main manufacturers. They've even released their internal Production Schedule in a recent news post, definitely opening up development even more.

Here's the big difference, and the reason why SC will NOT pull a NMS: No Man's Sky over-inflated hype by not communicating to it's buyers, especially once the developers realized it would fall short. Star Citizen is as hyped as it is because CIG communicates so much. If it wasn't for the constant flow of information from CIG, it certainly would appear to be a case of too good to be true. But as it is I think customers have a pretty good idea of what SC will be like when it's released.
