Considering that Equestria Girls franchise (at least the first movie) was launched so Hasbro could make money and that Faust was no longer involved in the show in addition to her mane goal in the first place of creating a pony show and nothing else, do you think Sunny would have ever existed had Faust stayed? I think that we would get a similar character if not the pony we got. Perhaps that character's story would be similar but maybe the setting would change rather than the tiresome and overused high school setting. P.S. Such philosophizing gives me an image of Sunny heartbreakingly asking me: : "Y-you...would rather b-be better off without m-me?" And I am pretty sure you are aware that I don't want her think that way, let alone being sad.
