VIVA

Granted I think La Marsielle is pretty hard-core too.

Himno Zapatista is pretty chill too.

The Star Spangled Banner, both the regular version and the arrangement Jimi Hendrix unleashed at Woodstock.

Do you like this remix?

Sort of, but Hendrix's rendition of "playing the Star Spangled Banner with an electric guitar" was surprisingly darker than the usual versions. Throughout the entire thing, Hendrix is imitating sounds of bomber jets blowing things up, machine gun fire, people screaming and a quote of "Taps" to conquer up images of what was going on in the Vietnam War (a theme he would expand on a bit with his own song "Machine Gun"). I'd post it here, but his estate has probably DMCA'd it off of Youtube. However, you can easily find it either by watching the end of the Woodstock movie or picking up the Live At Woodstock album at your local record shop. If you choose the latter, make sure it's the 2 CD version, because you get all the good stuff. And holy crap, disc 2 of Live At Woodstock...

And I better stop before I get further off topic.

Fascinating! But there is no competing with us blackshirts when it comes to cheery idealism.
