Things You Hate In Games You Love

This probably applies to all games in some manner or another...

When something is harder then it should be.

Most obvious examples:

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

Pokemon Sun/Moon.

I say Persona 3 FES "The Answer" but I'm pretty sure that is supposed to be hard. Because the difficulty for it is automatically set on hard. So yeah.

I believe WaterPulse is right. You gotta have more reasons the things you hate in these games other than difficulty of the game. Some games have a fixed difficulty and some tend to get harder as you progress.

Here are the things I hate in some games that I love

Final Fantasy XI - Well It's mostly the drop rate on certain equipment and Competition over notorious Monsters in terms of fast claim

Maple Story - Crashes, D/cs, and Security Program not shutting down Properly.

Pokemon Duel - Miss Segments, not landing big white attacks and purple attacks, and not getting any good pokemon off from the boosters

Plants vs Zombies 2 - Mostly Metal Hair Gargantuars in terms of the world music.

Super Smash Bros. - Well It's mostly Tabuu's Red Ring of Death and Master Core's Black hole of death which I hate these kind of moves

Mario Kart - Blue Shells is what I hate the most as most people hate these kind of items agree on that.

Final Fantasy - Mostly It's malboro's Bad Breath if you don't have ribbon or Status Immunities equipped (or status resist for FF8) including Final Fantasy XI's Extremely Bad Breath which it will do Instant Death effect..

Legend of Zelda - Like likes and Bubbles is what I hate the most in these games. In Hyrule Warriors, Mostly Item and Magic Thieves even though I hate it when they approach me to steal items and magic from me.

I'm going to sound a little hypocritical about this, but one thing I hate in games I love?

Whales.

Not in the literal sense. In the Urban Diction it refers to:

noun; a wealthy patron to a casino, gets paid special attention by a casino host so the patron will feel comfortable to gamble more money.

In an Online MMO scene this refers to players who spend HUUUUGE sums of cash for just about every type of Microtransaction service you can think of, whether this is buying luxury cosmetics, buying advantageous services from the game, purchasing P2W items in PvP scenarios, etc. Almost everyone I've encountered in some games have been absolute douchebags. Granted, I have spent money myself in MMO games before, and when Harrow's Prime Access comes around in Warframe, I certainly am going to damn well pay $50+ for his Prime Access, but in the grand scale of it though these are the kind of people who will spend thousands of dollars on a game. Why? Hell if I know, and we know most MMOs wouldn't be around if it weren't for them, but gawd damn if they aren't the most annoying people to encounter in those games.

Might've been mentioned earlier, but it's ALWAYS worth another mention.

NPCs with less self preservation than a kamikaze pilot- and anyone who's played Goldeneye knows what I'm talking about

Well, in the first Natayla level, one way to alleviate this problem is to complete the other missions and kill all the goons in the level. And a similar strategy can be used in Resident Evil 4, (provided you save enough cash for the semi-automatic rifle).

Everywhere else, yeah. I'm looking at you Sticky from Fallout 3 (though it only took me two attempts to get him to Big Town, oddly enough).

Castlevania SotN, my favorite game in the series.

I wouldn't say I hate it, but the reverse castle is so lazy.

Also if you love the game, too, don't try to tell me you didn't get sick of finale toccada and lost painting as well.

Whenever I'm playing a randomizer I'm not a fan of finding an item/character in their vanilla locations. Is that seed even randomized? :awesomecheer:

the construct champions in dark siders 2 I hate fighting them

due to the fact that

1: they're practically walking tanks they can take a beating

2: they can get multiple hits off thanks to their spike ball hand that they can spin like a drill

3: fighting 2 of them is frustrating fighting 1 one them is bad enough trying to 2 is just pure frustration

4: they can hit hard as well

and the tainted construct champions are just as annoying

1. The difficulty spike for the true final boss of the original Superstar Saga is awful, unless you basically cheat using a Mush Badge AA on both Bros., School Slacks on Luigi, and #1 Trousers on Mario. I haven’t played the 3DS remake, but there’s no Mush Badge AA, just the A variant. I didn’t even beat the game until after Chuggaaconroy uploaded the finale of his LP, though I got to that point around or slightly before 2011.

2. The Boos in the Boolossus fight from Luigi’s Mansion get so far away that it’s hard to get the ice to touch them, thus making the battle take a really long time, unless you’re lucky or a speedrunner. Again, I haven’t played the 3DS remake.

3. The Forsaken Fortress in Wind Waker. It just takes so long because of all the hiding in barrels. I once got some Rupees taken away by a rat in the cutscene where a Moblin captures you. Hopefully that last one was fixed in HD, though I haven’t played it before.

4. Dream Team is pretty good, but the bed part collecting section of the game takes a long time to get past. Once I was past that, I thought the final area was fun, and the penultimate battle was fun, too, but why does Bowser have to keep eating to restore health so often!? I just used the “easy mode” to finish the game.

5. Mario Sunshine’s Sand Bird, the poisonous river in Bianco Hills, The Manta Storm, The Watermelon Festival, timed Red Coin shines. Need I say more? Of those, I’ve only completed the Sand Bird and Manta Storm I think. In general, Mario Sunshine is an unexpectedly tough game, especially the later levels.

Other than those, I can’t really think of any other things that I don’t like in games I actually do like. Especially Superstar Saga, that game is really important to me because of my situation when playing through the majority of it during the summer of the year between 2009 and 2011.
