Didn’t recently end up troubleshooting a heating problem in a governmental building like I did. I found a series of abnormally low temperatures throughout the building, and a glance at all of the VAV boxes on the building automation showed no airflow whatsoever. I looked at the packaged rooftop unit itself, and the both of the drive belts to the indoor blower motor were broken and lying on the bottom of the unit. This is yet another thing the previous guy neglected before he retired (I estimate that those belts must have been ignored for at least two years; they should be checked during every filter change and replaced at the first sign of cracking!).
