What is considered too mature?

Recommended Posts

I have often heard that this is an "all ages" site and then characters in lingerie dont get removed after being reported. Perhaps this is a site for teenagers and older after all? I don't prefer mature content personally (which is why mlp is basically all I watch), so maybe put an age rating on specific threads? So people like me can avoid it

Greetings,

That a great idea by me.

Perhaps does a simple tag can be enough if a rule about it is added ?

The rules seem to specify a prohibition on pornographic content (as opposed to suggestive content). However, that being said, I don't think it would hurt to have some sort of tagging system or specific forum area for suggestive content if it is going to stay on the forums (if people want to look at suggestive content, they should have to actively look for it instead of accidentally stumbling across it).

Content standards also have to account for characters who regularly appear in public completely nude. That isn't to say that some poses are more suggestive than others. And we still have to consider humanized figures. EQD does do a decent job of not posting explicit content.

Right, what I'm talking about is humanized characters mostly

Thinking further, I believe that spoiler tags and a “suggestive” label beforehand could be combined to make a simple, effective requirement for posting suggestive things (assuming that suggestive things don’t get their own section of the forum).

For example, let’s say I want to post something suggestive:

Suggestive:

EXAMPLE.

Those who want to avoid the suggestive content can refrain from clicking on the spoiler section of the post, while those who want to view it can click on it.

For the record, I simply put “EXAMPLE” in the spoiler tags in this thread. :awesomecheer:

Problem is that this website would need to implement a pop up or something along those lines so you can consent that you are 18+. Otherwise it wouldn't be legal in most states around the world. Though your Idea holds true. Reddit I believe does something similar. Where the "revealing" pictures ask you if you are 18+ before you are allowed to watch further. Don't remember if Reddit does more than that, but that is currently the only thing that was stuck in my mind.
