But seriously, this makes so much sense, I remember watching the finale and being tired, so my mind immediately jumped to the conclusion he just died (I guess binge watching has that effect...tiredness and lack of attention).

This perspective of ambiguous ending is truly great, I knew that the producer was a stickler for details but this takes the cake.
