As a fellow Trekkie, I will admit that the look of Star Trek: Discovery seemed quite weird to me..not what I was used to with regards to Star Trek. Perhaps it is my fondness for the the Star Trek pre JJ Abrams. I will say that I am willing to give Star Trek: Discovery a chance..it at least deserves that. I want to see it and judge for myself whether it will be good or not. I hope you take a chance at it too. I have watched the Orville and it is quite humorous and has quite a lot of potential to it. Revenant Pony 1 Report post Posted September 17, 2017 I appreciate it. By all means, give it a watch. While I don't think I'm wrong in my opinions, there's always the chance I am. Which wouldn't be a bad thing since we get a new Star Trek show out of it. We will see. On a funny side note, I watched the Star Trek Discovery (STD? C'mon guys, how do you miss that?) then the Orville. Of the two, The Orville honestly felt more like Star Trek then Discovery did. I imagine a large part of that is Seth McFarlen is huge Star Trek fan himself, and there several Star Trek alumni working on the series along side him (which, if rumors are true, is not the case with STD).
